Artist Review: j0nny chidi – “Know The Deal” Single

Today’s Hip Hop and R&B sensibilities can be quite contemporary and sometime end up falling flat. But we don’t get any of that with j0nny chidi‘s single “Know The Deal” by any means.

Well known for his sing-songy style and charismatic hooks, this track really delivers the goods on production value, mainstream quality, and a multifaceted approach that really gives this artist a powerful foundation to his musicianship.

With clever and charismatic flows that parallel the catchy hooks, “Know The Deal” is a fantastic modernized approach to today’s better new school outfits that could easily be in rotation with the industry heavyweights currently being played on Hot 97.

This song’s mix has a very well-put-together chemistry, and uses many of today’s more utilized studio plugins in a tasteful way as opposed to an over saturated one. It’s a track that is upbeat, but sustains an implemented ambient touch as well, which really allows you to delve in deeper into not only this track, but entices you to research more into chidi‘s catalogue to really give you the outlet to get to know this artist better.

This artist is definitely heading somewhere. And it shows masterfully on this single. And once you take a listen to “Know The Deal” yourself, you’ll know what we’re talking about.
