Artist Review: Frankie Prada – “Don’t Need ‘Em” Single

Review by: Justyn Brodsky & Bethany Stephenson

When it comes to a versatile exercise of production value with equal parts musicianship and lyrical charisma, then New York-based Frankie Prada‘s new single “Don’t Need ‘Em” is a song you definitely need to hear.

Starting off with an insatiably in-your-face chorus, we get a gratifying transition into sing-songy stylizations throughout the verse structure that puts Frankie‘s melodic approach in the forefront.

The beat is a very ominous one and enters the song as a subtle buildup, as opposed to the sirens and alarms that the Hip Hop genre tends to be obnoxious with at times. So the authenticity of the track really shines through and shows Frankie‘s artistic merit in a way where his songwriting structure is more of a priority, as opposed to convoluted production theatrics. It’s definitely a refreshing listen, and really showcases Frankie‘s true musicianship.

Later this month in August, Frankie is slated to shoot and release an official music video for “Don’t Need ‘Em” and so far has built up an impressive following and anticipation of the upcoming video and is also very evident.

But he’s just getting started. Frankie is gonna be following up “Don’t Need ‘Em” with two more singles and is also slated to release his upcoming album this fall of 2018. Despite his partial-hiatus since last year, he has come back to the game swinging this year and has no intention of slowing down in the least. He has many tricks up his sleeve for the remainder of 2018, and 2019 as well. So be sure to check out Frankie‘s single, and keep a close eye on him as he continues to climb the industry ladder and make his next moves.
