Artist Review: Skyla Mac – “Mactober” LP

Straight heat coming from the streets to your stereo, elite Hip Hop artist Skyla Mac comes out swinging with his hybrid and vibrant new album Mactober.

Strap yourselves in for the ride, cause Skyla is going places with this latest record. Taking on an edge-of-your-seat lyrical approach, we get a heavy dose of yesterday’s iconic Hip Hop eras swiftly blended with today’s next-level sensibility. With versatility in the album ranging from feel-good tracks to straight bangers, we never get the same thing twice but always get the same artist. And that’s one very big component to this record – the signature sound and identity of Skyla. You always know it’s him despite the approach he takes. He’s recognizable and identifiable.

Utilizing multifaceted best mixes and post production sequences that add the perfect flavors, each track on Mactober embraces its own musical spectrum and lyrical composure. Skyla really focuses on his precision and making sure his rhyming techniques are pivotal and relevant to each measure. And the execution of his content is one of the many things that makes him a standout of his caliber.

Mactober also has a plethora of hood superstars stepping in as feature artists on this record, including Raekwon, Bun B, Sheek Louch, Maino and Uncle Murda. All who compliment Skyla‘s hooks and bars throughout the album’s duration, and proves that he’s no stranger to the game. This album has a lot of surprises and it’s a fire to behold when you really listen closely to the many facets of Skyla‘s musical credibility and authenticity.

Mactober officially dropped on October 31st and is currently available on all digital music retailers and streaming platforms.
