Artist Review: VeRich – “Benefit of a Doubt” EP

Every once in awhile you run into an artist that truly hits the ground running. One that grabs your undivided attention from the very first listen, and leaves an everlasting impression on you that is insatiably unwavering. This is exactly the feeling we get from VeRich‘s newest EP Benefit of a Doubt.

This is a record with a strong message. It’s music for the underdog; people that have true potential, but end up being overlooked. It’s an EP attributed to those who are willing to do the legwork and whatever it takes to make dreams a reality.

With hypnotic versatility in his take on modern Soul and R&B, VeRich‘s style is multifaceted with his very effective vocal range and lyrically clever punchlines. His electronically infused signature sound also adds the perfect splash of Hip Hop with very dynamically crafted drum parts and multilayered vocal melodies that resonate with every song diligently and passionately. His powerful vocal projection in the track “Nocturnal” demonstrates this perfectly. From elite production value to brilliantly structured songwriting components, this melodic and anthemic track brings VeRich‘s voice right to the forefront with ambience and wholesomeness. His vibrant tones and next level lyrical techniques are futuristic and ahead of its time. This track screams out passion from beginning to end.

Jumping over to his electronic banger “Junky” and the atmospherically visceral “Your Loss”, both tracks add a plethora of musicianship factors and different angles to VeRich‘s craft and artistic merit. His vocal range fits like a warm glove throughout every melodic measure and every track resonates like chapters in a book. But the best thing about it is the EP never becomes repetitive nor does it use recycled ideas. These are carefully crafted songs, and the precision that went into the perfect parallels between the authentic songwriting and the producer’s crucial touches are truly something to behold, and very rare in its own right among today’s modern music realm.

If this is the first time you’ve ever heard VeRich, then prepare for an edge of your seat listening experience. If you already know him, then Benefit of a Doubt will be an absolute treat. Either way, he is an original in his own right, yet still brings familiarity to the table with some of today’s chart-topping superstars. At this rate, VeRich is well on his way to taking his place alongside the industry’s major players; and he’ll be a household name every music fan will recognize.
