Artist Review: Aya & Ali – “Burn It Down” Single

Review by: Justyn Brodsky

Funky, flavorful and compellingly catchy, NYC-duo Aya & Ali come out swinging with their new highly anticipated single “Burn It Down”.

With rhythmic textures, mid-ranged snappy guitar riffs and female-fronted vocals with multifaceted melody choices, “Burn It Down” is definitely a next-level track that will easily raise the stakes for the indie artist realm, and turn heads in the mainstream music market. And with NYC being their stomping grounds, their potential and likelihood to make this happen is very much in their favor.

This track is also very versatile and touches on equal parts originality and familiarity; delving into a sound that gives their audience a fresh and modern feel, yet all the while staying relevant, identifiable and relatable. It has instant-likability factors that are paralleled between the songwriting, execution, and overall production value, and it never wavers from its aura and energy.

The song also has an anthemic message as well, and has a lot of depth. The song title and concept touches on “burning the negativity and turning it into a light that guides us to positivity”, a way to condemn racism and promote diversity. A song that identifies us as an equal human race with music being our cornerstone to bettering ourselves and inspiring one another. It’s a song, when listened to close enough, that could really put positive change in place and pave the way for a better future. For everyone, as a human race.

This song inspires you to be inspired, and has a world of talent expressed in Aya & Ali‘s artistic merit and musicianship factors. If “Burn It Down” is the first time you hear this duo, then you’re in for a real treat. You’ll be very enticed to dive deeper into this duo’s previous catalogue, as well as keep a close eye on their future prospects.
