Originally emerging from the elite Phoenix music scene in Arizona, Joel Matthew, a 22-year old prominently rising rapper, singer, songwriter, producer and keyboardist – began hitting the ground running in the music realm during 2016 where he met up with his creative team. The move also resulted in ending a brief stint in college; a decision based on focusing his dreams on being one of the industry’s best at his craft that he has built on since 2011, and has no intention of slowing down. And with his team backing him, also put his situation and prospects into promising directions.

After mere weeks of making his successful move to Los Angeles, Joel began wasting no time at all getting acquainted and established with the industry’s bigger leagues. He began working with multi-platinum and Grammy award-winning producer, songwriter, and keyboardist, Sam Barsh, as well as Grammy award-winning and GOOD Music engineer and producer, Tom Kahre. Together, this powerhouse production duo would manifest and craft Joel’s signature sound, and began the process for putting together his debut EP, “Where Do I Start”. Over the course of a year, Joel wrote and produced all seven tracks on the EP with his new team, and also developed the concept for the official artwork with his creative partner and brother, Jakob Matthew, along with artist and Sony Pictures animator, Tiffany Lam.

2019 is looking bright for the young, up and coming artist with “Where Do I Start” being his debut release. The EP releases exclusively on March 1st and will be available on several digital music retailers, streaming platforms, as well as Joel’s official website and social media. He has come a long way in a short time and is driven to maintain his originality and to keep shooting for greatness. Judging by his determination and prospects so far, Joel Matthew is well on his way to the top. And mainstream music fans will soon be used to hearing him as a household name.
