Artist Review: Rolf Schnyder – “Orange Punk” Single

Review by: Justyn Brodsky

With a swift 80’s style of synth-infused song structures with today’s modern sensibility, we get an unwavering shot of adrenaline with Switzerland-based artist’s Rolf Schnyder‘s single “Orange Punk”.

This is no ordinary song, and will have you raising your eyebrows and tipping your glasses to its originality, energy and multifaceted signature style. Rolf serves up a song that is like a shockwave of EDM as if it took place back in the 80’s era, but with a modern energetic twist. It’s completely unexpected and really comes out swinging at the very first measure of the track. It hints at some Jazz-influenced fills and really captivates your attention; it’s definitely a song that will have you delving deeper into Rolf‘s discography and future releases.

The song structure is not complex, which is what makes it even more charming. The instrumental track doesn’t have one measure or structure that strays you from the song’s intended impact and really throws itself at you in a way that’ll keep you coming back. It’ll require more than one listen; your first initial reaction will be “wow, what did I just listen to?!” And in a great way. This is the type of song you’ll be passing along to friends.

Rolf is a very renowned musician in his home country and is really on the rise as he continues to pump out new releases. “Orange Punk” in particular is a versatile and visceral listening experience that will really entice you to research more into what Rolf has to offer. His style has many angles and never fails to keep you focused and interested in seeing (and hearing) what he has in store next. “Orange Punk” is currently available on Spotify, iTunes, and other digital music platforms and music streaming platforms. We can’t recommend this song highly enough, and once you take a listen yourself, you’ll be recommending it too.
