Everybody loves good groovy verses and anthemic choruses. It’s a great formulaic balance between originality, familiarity and tasteful blending of tempos and moods. That’s why singer/songwriter and producer Rita Pam‘s hit single “Change The Tide” is a standout of its caliber and a fresh take on a Rock-inspired Pop approach.
This song has a mysterious subtlety that immediately grabs your attention; the out-front punchy rhythm section and texturized piano and keys during the verses are reminiscent of hit songs like Alannah Myles’ “Black Velvet”, which sets the tone for the track as well as the charm. Rita‘s impressively high vocal range is very apparent and is showcased very effectively in the chorus, giving her the breathing room to explore her artistic merit. When blended together, we get a dynamic song that is diligently crafted with elements of Pop and Rock that give a great callback to the 80s as well as today’s more mainstream chart toppers.
Rita has been a staple of the industry since she emerged in 2007, and its song’s like this one that have garnered her an insatiable buzz and growing fan base. Her album ‘Anna’ (which features this single) made amazing strides throughout the market and is an acclaimed record altogether. This hit single, as well as ‘Anna’ and Rita‘s full catalogue, is currently available online and several digital music platforms. She is an eclectic artist you really need to check out and keep tabs on as she continues to write, produce, and put out new material that keeps getting better over time like fine wine. You’ll be more than happy that you did.
