I never thought I’d see a clean cut man of Phillip Foxley‘s age performing some of my favorite Rock, Punk and Indie styles. His long lengthy 29-track album, ‘I’ll Try ‘Till I Die,’ is an anthemic collection of songs with crunchy guitar, dynamic leads and vocal melodies that tie it all together into one rockin’ package; and it’s anything but a disappointment.

After releasing a vast array of singles, this debut album, though a long journey of a listen, is worth every listen. Opening track “I’ve Forgotten Something Else!” is an explosive and in-your-face catchy track with some of the best guitar progressions and vocal melody combinations that have been put together in this era. Phillip is not just another musician searching for that next groundbreaking sound that has over theatrical antics with post production; it’s good old plug-in-and-play, writing effective songs, and just going for it. His sound is reminiscent of classic 90s/2000s bands like Saves The Day, Ramones and The Suicide Machines. You hear this right off the bat, he’s not after anything innovative or seeking that next big thing, he just wants to write songs that are fun-filled, energetic and catchy enough to draw you in to his flavorful Rock sound.

Now again, there’s 29 tracks to choose from. While they all maintain consistency, each track offers new angles to Phillip‘s talent; adding in feature artists, instrumentals and different tastes of his signature sound and stylization. His piano track “Promises” is beautifully crafted with waves of backup vocals, gorgeous string arrangements and is hauntingly visceral from the very first listen. This album, literally, has something for everyone and offers up an anthemic sound that is comprised of multifaceted textures and versatile measures. It’s just one of many songs that will surprise you, but still fit among the rest of the album’s content.

Phillip Foxley is quite a find, and anyone that can resonate with the late 80s and 90s Rock sound with classic Emo and Indie flavors will absolutely fall head over heals with this record. It’s currently available on several platforms and we can’t stress enough how much we recommend picking this one up.
