Exclusive Artist Review: Bryanpreneur – “Corona Conspiracy” (feat. Reala G) Single

“Is it real or a conspiracy?” is a question many have asked about the recent coronavirus outbreak. It’s also a subject matter that many artists have been touching on, especially since the lockdowns have diminished the live concert experience. And with the pandemic still in full swing, Malaysia-based rising Hip Hop artist Bryanpreneur has teamed up with UK-based feature artist Reala G to put together a track that is effective with a visceral listening experience. The track is titled “Corona Conspiracy” and really delves into the economic impact of the virus, as well as the aspect of how it came to be.

Bryanpreneur, a Malaysian-Chinese rapper, has been going strong for a year now and has amassed an insatiable following since his prior release of three other singles. He boasts a dynamic and multifaceted Boom Bap style and has many crucial influences from industry heavyweights like Eminem, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes, Nas, J. Cole and Royce Da 5’9. Feature artist Reala G has more of a low-to-mid ranged vocal approach with a flow that spotlights a golden era 90s Boom Bap signature sound. His influences range from 2PAC and DMX to Nas, Rakim and KRS-One. He has been heavily active since the age of 14 and discovered his affinity for Rap at the age of 4.

“Corona Conspiracy” has a hauntingly ominous piano-driven beat that effectively showcases both artists with a heavy spotlight. The track opens up with the chorus and really sets a mysterious tone. It has a seriousness to it that really draws you in as soon as it starts and you can’t help but give this song your complete undivided attention. Right off the gate, Bryanpreneur latches onto the beat with a charismatic flow that has a spoken word sensibility that really encapsulates the content. His rhythmic measures are written and executed brilliantly and his in-your-face lyrical outbursts really delve into his artistic merit in a truly impactful way. Reala G jumps in on the second verse and really adds a whole other layer to this track’s versatile style. His methodical lyrics are cleverly crafted with a classic Rap sensibility that is reminiscent of the 90s and early 2000s. Both rappers mesh perfectly on this track and compliment each other beautifully in both production and performance value. The song overall touches on equal parts originality and familiarity, giving the audience a taste of something fresh yet still identifiable. It’s a song that gives a more-than-solid first impression if it’s your first time hearing them and also sustains substantial staying power – where the song stays with you even after it’s over. It deserves multiple listens and will also undoubtedly entice you to dive deeper into both artists’ careers and discography.

“Corona Conspiracy” is a solid track with a strong foundation and showcases both Bryanpreneur and Reala G in the most effective spotlight. It’s also a song that strongly encompasses today’s world issues and is one of the most powerful pandemic-influenced songs of 2021 thus far.
