Exclusive Artist Review: Uncle Brent & The NoStone – “Malibu” Single

Packed full of twangy guitar riffs, a cruising rhythm section and spot on vocal melodies with distinctive harmonies, Uncle Brent’s newest single “Malibu” comes out swinging from all angles aiming to please any Blues-Rock fan that comes into earshot of the catchy tune. Uncle Brent is definitely no ordinary artist, he loves to come up with tunes that are honest, personal, and with a clever focus on storytelling. His music is not just entertainment, but a true example of what it is like to sing and play from the heart. Solo or along with his band, he creates a diverse and passionate sound, tipping the hat off to iconic artists the likes of Tom Petty, The Refreshments, Whiskey Myers, Reckless Kelly, and many others of a similar calibre. Uncle Brent has been active in the Austin, TX scene for over a decade now and still continues to hit the ground running with his eclectic and catchy sound; drawing an insatiable fan base since his inception and continues to do so.

Now with 2021’s Summer months finally here, Uncle Brent & The NoStone have brought us a perfect single to jam to all season long. Accompanied by a dynamically crafty lyric video, “Malibu” is a twangy and rhythmic track that puts a Rock & Roll boost into an eclectic Bluesy approach. Kicking off with a high energy guitar riff, “Malibu” immediately entices the ear with its incredibly catchy chord progressions and rhythmically gratifying drums and bass, leading us into verses that shine a spotlight on Uncle Brent’s mid-to-high range vocal melodies that are well placed and punctually performed. Eventually steering us into a chorus that lays a brilliant foundation to catchiness, blending tastefully integrated harmonies and lead guitar shreds. This is a story-telling song, one that really invests your undivided attention and the pristine production value really rounds out the signature flavor. It’s catchy, it’s crafty and it’s a perfect summer song.

“Malibu” also has something that we don’t see too often in today’s modern music market – staying power. Where the song has the power to stay with you even after it’s over. You’ll be singing this chorus in your head, you’ll be putting it on repeat. Regardless, Uncle Brent has put out a gem, and you’ll hear him shine from the very first listen. Old fans will be surprised, and if you’re a new fan, then I guarantee this’ll be the track to win you over. “Malibu” officially releases on June 18th and will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes and several other digital music streaming platforms. This one will definitely be your summer anthem.

Exclusive Artist Interview With Presley Tennant

Known for her distinctively catchy vocal style and hypnotizing good looks, recording artist Presley Tennant began hitting the ground running in the musical realm after auditioning on NBC’s The Voice – whom was hand selected by show judge Kelly Clarkson to join her vocal team, also prompting her to make a full transition into the world of Country music. She has sung the National Anthem for team greats like the Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trailblazers, and has also performed alongside several prominent Country stars including Tim McGraw, Cody Johnson, Mike Montgomery, a Vegas duet with Kelly Clarkson, and many others.

Now, with the recent April 12th release of her third anchor single “Bite The Bullet”, Tennant continues to prove that she is a vital voice in the Country market and has no intention of slowing down anytime soon. Her full record “Wish I Could Be That Strong” is slated for release this June and she so far has built an insatiable presence and fan base since the inception of her solo career – winning over fans from several Country music eras nationwide with her natural talent and multifaceted signature sound. We got to sit down with Presley Tennant for a comprehensive interview about her career as well as what she has in store for 2021 and beyond.

How long have you been active under your current artist name?

I’ve always gone by my normal name as my artist name, so pretty much my whole life – haha!

What music scene/city do you currently represent?

I’m born and raised in Norco also known as Horsetown U.S.A! It’s a small little town in Southern California. Everyone knows each other and is such a warm and friendly town!

The pandemic has really thrown a wrench into the live music experience
and for artists altogether. How has it affected you and your career?

The pandemic has definitely taken a toll on performing and live music but has also given artists more time to really hone in and perfect their craft and create more music so as soon as the pandemic is over, we can pick up right where we left off.

What are some of your music influences?

I grew up listening to many different artists from many genres, but the ones that really shaped who I am would be Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Etta James and so many more!

What kind of concepts do you tend to write about as an artist? Shine
some light on that.

I tend to write my music off of personal experiences and stories that I’ve heard from others. I love to write about things I have actually been through, whether it’s just a feeling or a certain situation because I feel like I can connect to the song a lot differently and more personally than I would with a song written about something I haven’t experienced.

When is your next release coming out?

The next release is coming very soon, but in the meantime I just released a new song called “Bite the Bullet”. It’s out now so make sure to stream everywhere and stay tuned for the music video to follow.

What’s in store for you in 2021? Give us the goods.

You can expect lots of new music in 2021 as well as different shows and performances. Next month, I’ll be in Arlington, Texas singing for the Texas Rangers and soon after in Florida for a series of shows.

Country starlet Temperance Lancecouncil debuted just a few years ago but has made a significant impact on the music world and has also successfully amassed an insatiable following since then. Now, with the recent release of her newest single “Globally We Sing; Erase 19”, she continues to hit the ground running by proving to her audience that she has what it takes to reach new heights; and that she’s not going anywhere, anytime soon.

This pandemic-themed single is anthemic and even has a national anthem feel to it. Temperance‘s melodically visceral vocals are charismatic, natural and strongly showcase her artistic merit and versatility in all the right places. The song structure itself is very atmospheric and ambient, lending a dynamically crafty approach to its signature style. And with the production and performance value paralleling each other perfectly, this song hits it out of the park in its entirety and really reaches new heights for the rising starlet.
