A lot of artists focus more on the performance aspect, along with their image and presentation. But then there is the magic from behind the scenes. And elite songwriter/lyricist UnaVerSoul KING (real name Terry Davis) is one of those artists that makes that magic happen, and we get a clear demonstration of that with the single “A Bottle Of Wine”.

This acoustic track, with guitar and vocals performed by a female Canadian studio session musician, is a multifaceted yet simple song that has diligent chord progressions and intelligently crafted melodies throughout every measure. The track, solely written and arranged by UnaVerSoul KING, showcases an arrangement of glistening guitar parts with perfect parallels to the melody choices of the song. The lyrical narrative is very anthemic and has an infectiously catchy chorus that really sticks with you.

The single also has great production value that gives the song a sense of an instant classic feel. There’s no post-production theatrics or convoluted recording techniques to distract you from the song’s authenticity. It’s a track that is uplifting, fun, and delivers the impact where it’s intended; and really hits home where the heart is. Artist Review: Return Trip Project – “Tarantella Love Songs” EP

Tarantella is a group of various folk dances characterized by a fast upbeat tempo accompanied by tambourines. It is among the most recognized forms of traditional southern Italian music. The specific dance-name varies with every region, for instance tammurriata in Campania, pizzica in the Salento region, Sonu a ballu in Calabria. Tarantella is popular in Southern Italy and Argentina. It has also been rumored to treat people who were suffering from unrequited love.

Return Trip Project embraces this sound and concept with their own versatile take on the genre, and really delve into impressively high range female-fronted vocals that brings true essence to the Tarantella signature sound. Each track has glistens of tambourine and percussive flavors that embrace an inspirational sound that is well crafted, well executed and gives this EP an inspirational aura that any music fan could appreciate.

Press Release: Lucy Morningstar Slated To Release Her Self-Titled EP In Early 2019

When it comes to tailoring her craft and musical visions in very influential ways, very few artists grab your attention the way Lucy Morningstar does. Delving into her craft to reflect personal positive vibes and experiences, the songs on this new record are influenced by her time spent living in Maui, Hawaii, where she embraced nature and the profound impact the island life has had on her. The lyrics and melodies touch on channeling spiritual evolution through gratitude, consciousness and helping one another achieve their dreams. The songs she writes are inspired by her experiences overcoming fear and breaking through boundaries to continue on the path of her destiny. This new music is also fueled by the freedom of traveling, doing what she loves, and seeing how we as people can contribute to the world around us by being ourselves and raising one’s vibration. It’s a record that is personal, and inspires to be inspired.

Lucy‘s chord progressions are smooth, sensual and parallel perfectly with her mid-ranged vocals and diligent melody structures. The full, wholesome sound from her band really captures the glow of each song and showcases her lyrical story-telling approaches very effectively. These tracks have many different genre elements as well, and have something for everyone.

For this EP, it’s no doubt that Lucy recruited some world renowned musicians. The songs were produced by John Avila (Oingo Boingo) who also plays bass on the album, plus Scott Page (Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Toto) on Saxophone, Anthony Logerfo (Promise of the Real) on drums, Alexander Burke (Save Ferris, Billy Ray Cyrus) on keys, and Rich Fisanick on lead guitar. The EP is slated for release is early 2019 and will be available on all digital music retailers and streaming platforms. Press Release: Pop/Folk Artist Bryce Hitchcock Releases New Single “Two”

Recognized as “an artist to watch”, Bryce Hitchcock’s music is rooted in folk-pop, country blues, and jazz. Fans have heard Bryce as the voice of Deuce in the Final Fantasy Type-0 HD video game and she was recently featured singing and acting on the hit FX show Atlanta.

Bryce‘s new single “Two” is about a girl who isn’t ready to commit 100% of herself to her relationship. She’s afraid to be depended on, and even more afraid of depending on someone else. Bryce‘s strong smokey voice carries the heavy subject matter and shows amazing maturity for such a young girl. Bryce brings back deep lyrical content reminiscent of such legends as James Taylor and Carly Simon but keeps it fresh and new with a young sound and modern production. In an era of over produced, glossy pop music Bryce is keeping it real.

Two” was recorded in Ireland with Stuart Gray at Jealoustown Studios and a music video was filmed in downtown Nashville, TN by Steven C. Knapp of Knapptime Creative LLC. The song may be titled “Two” but Bryce‘s songwriting and voice deserves to be number one. “Two” is currently released on Spotify and all digital music platforms.

Artist Review: MiZ – “A Year Ago Today” LP

Acoustic, electric and all around eclectic, we get a fun and heartfelt catalogue of multifaceted tracks from Americana/Roots Rock recording artist MiZ‘s newest album A Year Ago Today.

MiZ is definitely no stranger to the industry. He’s performed his music on a vast array of tours and has opened up for industry heavyweights like Jason Isbell, Blues Traveler, The Wallflowers, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and a slew of others. And is also a two time winner of the Tri-State Indie Award for “Acoustic Artist Of The Year”. Now continuing his career after the well received success of his debut album, MiZ has emerged from the studio with his second studio album A Year Ago Today, and proves to be a very diligently crafted follow up record with all the goods.

Staying true to his signature sound of blissful guitar textures, dynamic melody placements and tasty vocal harmonies, MiZ delivers up an album of heartfelt catchiness that sings to your soul and sticks in your head. Each track is intelligently pieced together, has flavorful additives and delves into a fresh Americana sound with elements of Folk and served up with a classic Roots Rock style. All the while maintaining modern production value and musicianship factors that makes A Year Ago Today a very relevant record for today’s mainstream market.

From well blended acoustic guitar progressions, keyboard melodies to funky fiddles gliding through each measure with a tight rhythm section, MiZ‘s versatile vocal range is showcased very effectively and really stands out as a true original. Each song really shows the facets of his song writing and his lyrical content with catchy vocal melodies are a collective standout on this album. There is something for everyone on this record.

Another great component is the diversity of the tracks. It provides a sound that shares equal parts originality and familiarity, where you get something different from each song but know it’s coming from the same artist. And the attentiveness to the detail of MiZ‘s songwriting is one of the major things that makes A Year Ago Today the gem that it really is.

This is a masterful album, and if this is your first time discovering MiZ, you’ll be glad you did. It’s the type of album that’ll give you intrigue, and really entice you to look deeper into MiZ‘s music career and previous records. His true talent glows in this album, and it’s made apparent from start to finish.

Artist Review: Randall Fowler – “The Recipe” EP

It’s rare that you discover an artist that is so good, that you have to listen to the music twice to fully embrace what you just heard. That’s the sensation you get when listening to Randall Fowler‘s newest hybrid Country-Rock EP The Recipe.

“A little bit o’ you, a little bit ‘o me, baby that’s the recipe” sings Fowler on the self-titled track of the EP. And that’s exactly what his songs are all about – the recipe. Something that is evident and appropriately titled, with every component of each song in its rightful place where it can deliver the most impact.

Emerging from the Charleston music scene in South Carolina, Randall Fowler, a musician since childhood, combines a strong Country Rock style with Pop and R&B additives that encompass familiar vibes and an innovative modern feel. His vocal range and control is something to behold all on its own, but combined with his ability to write and compose eclectic and intelligently crafted songs is what makes him the gem he really is. And The Recipe demonstrates this perfectly.

The precision of the EP carries significant weight with the production value and lends a hand at putting a modern twist to a very favorable genre in a very versatile way. With smooth acoustic guitar progressions and textures mixed with multifaceted EDM sensibilities, The Recipe delivers up a sound you’ve never quite heard before. It has incredible performance value, freshly innovative ideas, and really showcases Fowler in the most effective way possible. Scissortail, comprised of fellow musicians Seth Patterson and Trey Lockhart, come together to bring us smooth guitars and feel-good vibes with their eclectic Americana sound in this new single, and it’s something that will captivate your soul.

With great use of acoustic melodies and electric textures, both guitar parts compliment the good nature and well controlled vocals that embrace a passionate tone and overall atmosphere throughout the track. It is a simple song that is effective, high spirited and brings their true musicianship factors to the forefront.
