A truly modern triumph, and a realm of R&B the way it was meant to be is what No-EL Dacosta‘s The Soul Man From The Endz stands up to be, and represents as a whole. An album of tunes that are soulful, versatile, multifaceted, and a realistic caressing of the heart of real R&B music.

But Dacosta‘s album is a lot more than that. This collection of uplifting anthems have additives of Blues, Bossa Nova, Jazz, Jams, Hip Hop and everything in between. From swinging mid-ranged vocal tracks to clear and concise production value, these songs share all kinds of moods. There are blissful feature artists that bring in soothing vocal textures, beautifully crafted guitar and piano compositions. Best of all, each song breathes its own life into each song. You never hear the same thing twice and every track has a new set of features that conjures these songs more into anthems, rather than just songs on an album.

No-EL‘s album is a masterpiece of R&B in its own right, and rightly so. His vocal approach is perfect for the genre and has really put a modern edge to every song on this album. You’ll absolutely love it, and puts R&B into a new modern world that gives it a whole new sound for generations to come.

Press Release: Carolee Rainey Releases Her New Single “Sacrifice”

We at Artist Reach have a great suggestion. Stop doing what you’re doing and go listen to Carolee Rainey’s new single, ‘Sacrifice.’ 

This may sound strange, but the first time we heard  ‘Sacrifice’, we felt like she may have been talking right to us. But Wait. Hold that thought. On the second listen, we’re certain she may be talking not only to us but through us. She has literally brought me back to a time in our lives before real responsibility kicked in…when life was carefree and wild.  Oh yeah. Its funny. A dear friend of ours who has met Rainey said she got the idea to write ‘Sacrifice’ after reading an article about a manager that worked closely with Stevie Nicks in her early career and mentions in the interview how much he enjoyed working with Stevie, but it had been a long time since they had been in touch and how wonderful it would be to just randomly run into her again somewhere. 

This was the very article that inspired Rainey’s ‘Sacrifice.’ This is Rainey’s third single out on her new label ‘Sapphire.’  The other two singles, ‘Deeper Than The Ocean’ and ‘You Matter’ invoked the beginning sparks of a brilliant new songwriter artist on the horizon.  We’re talking superstars like Tracy Chapman, Tori Amos, Lana del Rey, and Ed Sheeran. 

Add Carolee Rainey to the list. ‘Sapphire’ is proud to have Carolee on the label and is thrilled to promote a platform in which this unusual and soulful artist can now be heard by the world. Get ready.

Artist Review: (dIG) dEM iSBY gIRLS – “School Days”

Glistening vocals, ambient beat structures, and a futuristic hypnotic vibe that combines the best of yesterday’s and today’s R&B is what makes dEM iSBY gIRLS (aka dIG) a gem within their own right with their freshest single “School Days”.

The voices are subtle, magnetic, and brings you to a realm of a laid-back feel that really encompasses a sound that is very visceral, ethereal, and multifaceted. Their versatile approach in “School Days” is not your every day track; it resonates with a style that touches on originality and familiarity, giving their audience a taste of something new yet still identifiable. The vocal personas also touch on different factors, landscapes, and really give each vocal component a life of its own, which is what makes dIG a group that lives up to their name. You will dig them, and really find your listener’s niche with their hypnotic style of singing.

Another part of this song is the likability factors – the sing doesn’t carry on too long, has great runtime in its duration, and is a track you can come back to time and time again. It has that staying power – the power to really stay with you even after the song is over. Regardless, you will find unconditional love for this song; and keep you in anticipation of what dIG comes out with next. They won’t disappoint.

Artist Review: Spursy – “Neon” Single

Some of today’s artists really know how to put a true edge to the reminiscence of yesterday’s 80s iconic sound without succumbing to plagiarism techniques or obvious direct similarities to the music of any era, but executed more in a way where the artist’s homage to the era is more reinvented or reimagined in their own way and brought out in a mainstream realm of quality. And this is exactly the type of feat Spursy brings to the table with his signature sound from his single “Neon”.

This track definitely has a glow from the very beginning of the track, and never wavers from the concept’s funky riffs, tight knit rhythm section and Duran Duran style vocals – however all executed in a way that is compellingly original. The vocal range and lyrical outbursts of Spursy is completely versatile, multifaceted, and never wavers from its authenticity, balance and composure.

Each verse is doused with that 70s/80s synthy sound we’ve all come to know, love, and miss dearly. So it’s a refreshing and tasteful feel throughout the vocal combination. And once all of this takes place, the song’s structure melts us with an insatiably earth halting chorus that truly ties it all together to make “Neon” light up the room, your earphones, and everything in between that puts this song in the forefront of your listening experience. You truly can not go wrong with this song.

From the old school songwriting sensibilities to today’s mainstream production quality – it just doesn’t get any better than this.

Artist Review: Sassy Vee – “I Should Go” & “Emotional” Singles

A gem like Sassy Vee is a girl with a vision and a girl with a vibe. She’s an absolute trifecta in the bigger picture altogether – she has class, beauty, and insatiable talent that is passionately utilized in her own signature style of music that is compellingly catchy, lyrically visceral and atmospherically ambient. And she showcases these very crucial components in her anchor singles “I Should Go” and “Emotional”. Two tracks with different eclectic approaches, but diligently executed by Sassy herself no matter what elements each song presents itself with. These are two very versatile tracks that truly bring you into the musical realm that Sassy delivers to the forefront; and never wavers from her flavorful sound she carries with her throughout every song that leaves you refreshed and aching to hear more.

“I Should Go” is a great mid-pacing yet subtle song that serves up as a flavorful modern treat into today’s Pop sensibility with Indie elements. From lyrically visceral and eased-up verses that beautifully showcase Sassy‘s voice as more of a clever and delicate buildup, the verses really caress her vocal textures and tenderness that really shows her authenticity. It’s the perfect buildup of soft-sung narratives before the powerful chorus jumps in to tie the song together with Sassy‘s wholesome vocal dubs and mid-to-high range melodies. She truly grasps onto the song’s aura and key signature to write and perform the perfect balance and composure for this track, and really puts her strengths right out to the forefront. She clearly has a knack for writing vocal parts that are not only catchy, but compelling as well, and really puts forth a style that touches on equal parts originality and familiarity, giving her audience a taste of something fresh yet still identifiable.

Her second single “Emotional” is more R&B-infused and reminiscent of the classic Motown Records era with tasteful mixtures of today’s more authentic and eclectic Soul inspired artists that perform R&B the way it was meant to be. The track is more charismatic, fun, and shows a different angle to Sassy‘s lyrical techniques and artistic merit. It’s a track that any R$B listener can appreciate, including previous generations that witnessed the manifestation of the genre, and the components that came with it. “Emotional” is also a song that truly sings from, and speaks to the soul. It resonates with the truly passionate music fan that wants to delve into an artist’s true core, to see and hear who they really are as a songwriter. All the while relating to the song in a whole, and finding out how they can identify with it.

Overall, Sassy‘s singles are triumphant, meaningful and really bring out different angles of her talent and songwriter. She’s a rare gem among many artists of her caliber, and has a very promising prospect of what 2019 has in store for her, as well as beyond. By the sounds of it – Sassy Vee is not going anywhere, anytime soon. It’s artists like her that today’s music really yearns for.

Artist Review: Static RYan – “NOSHO” Single

With a conjuring of ambience, versatility, and an insatiably raw sound that combines today’s indie Trap Rap sensibilities and rock elements from the iconic 90s era, UK-based solo artist Static RYan proves that his latest single “NOSHO” is innovative, clever, and anything but ordinary.

With fans describing his signature sound as a “low-fi Nirvana” kind of approach, SR brings forth a classic yet futuristic style that touches on equal parts originality and familiarity, giving his audience a taste of something fresh yet still identifiable in its own right. From atmospheric guitar tones, ominous digital additives and hauntingly visceral vocal structures, this song’s chemistry is hypnotically mysterious as it is cleverly innovative. It’s a diligent approach of a Hip Hop flow with grungy Rock flavors that leave room for different lyrical pathways and really shows an array of different angles of SR‘s talent.

“NOSHO” is a very consistent track, and very relevant as well. It’s appeasing enough to the underground scene, but could still easily win over the fundamentals of today’s mainstream market. The track officially releases today and will be available on several digital music retailers and streaming platforms. You won’t regret picking up a copy of this track, and it’ll definitely entice you to look deeper into Static RYan‘s discography, as well as future prospects. He’s the type of artist to keep watching for, to see what next move he makes, and where it takes him.

Artist Review: UnaVerSoul KING – “A Bottle Of Wine” Single

A lot of artists focus more on the performance aspect, along with their image and presentation. But then there is the magic from behind the scenes. And elite songwriter/lyricist UnaVerSoul KING (real name Terry Davis) is one of those artists that makes that magic happen, and we get a clear demonstration of that with the single “A Bottle Of Wine”.

This acoustic track, with guitar and vocals performed by a female Canadian studio session musician, is a multifaceted yet simple song that has diligent chord progressions and intelligently crafted melodies throughout every measure. The track, solely written and arranged by UnaVerSoul KING, showcases an arrangement of glistening guitar parts with perfect parallels to the melody choices of the song. The lyrical narrative is very anthemic and has an infectiously catchy chorus that really sticks with you.

The single also has great production value that gives the song a sense of an instant classic feel. There’s no post-production theatrics or convoluted recording techniques to distract you from the song’s authenticity. It’s a track that is uplifting, fun, and delivers the impact where it’s intended; and really hits home where the heart is. It’s definitely a feel-good tune that will entice you to delve deeper into UnaVerSoul‘s discography as well as his future prospects and projects.

UnaVerSoul KING is one of those gems that really helps the artist in the forefront shine as bright as they can, with real music and real signature songwriting. His experience as a writer and his versatility working with different artists has honed his craft diligently, and will be a name you’ll be hearing much more about.
