Exclusive Artist Review: Forest Robots – “Amongst A Landscape Of Spiritual Reckoning” Album

We were beyond impressed with solo artist Forest Robots‘ third album when we reviewed it last June. Now in 2021, he has conjured up a fourth album that exceeds all expectations. The new record ‘Amongst A Landscape Of Spiritual Reckoning’ diligently showcases Forest Robots‘ evolution and really brings his signature sound to the forefront in this ten-track juggernaut.

Comprised of ambient guitar swells, atmospheric textures and anthemic electronic additives throughout the album’s duration, ‘Amongst A Landscape…” truly encompasses a multi layered sound that is articulately crafted and cleverly executed. The performance and production value parallels each other perfectly and the atmosphere of the album sets a tone that encapsulates many moods throughout. It has brilliant touches of Jazz, Indie, and Orchestral instrumentals with tons of different flavors in each song to bring a unique and captivating listening experience to anyone that encounters this album. It’s like a rollercoaster of emotions that have steep ups and downs, which really explores many different angles of Forest Robots‘ unique ambient style. It’s a record you need to hear to believe.

Each song meshes beautifully with the next and goes together like a storybook or concept album. The track “All Great Things Must Grow Through Dirt First” has a sampled sound of rain in the background and really puts an atmosphere into the song that is rarely heard. The dynamic use of sounds of nature really breathes life into this album and enhances the listening experience through the textures and chemistry that is conveyed in every song. It has insatiable staying power – the power to stay with you even long after it’s over.

This album deserves multiple listens and you’ll discover something new each time you encounter it. You can listen to it exclusively on BandCamp and you can find several Forest Robots releases on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify and several other digital music streaming platforms.

Exclusive Review: Forest Robots – “Times When I Know You’ll Watch The Sky” Album

Review by: Justyn W. Brodsky

Cover Art of the new Forest Robots album

Conjuring a heavily articulated blend of EDM sensibilities, electronic textures and versatile production techniques is what makes Forest Robots a multifaceted standout of its kind. A crafty musical entity masterminded through the brilliant mind of producer/songwriter Fran Dominguez, Forest Robots comes out swinging once again with the third album “Times When I Know You’ll Watch The Sky”.

This instrumental 11-track juggernaut is a rollercoaster ride into the depths of unwavering atmosphere and ambient rhythms that exercise your mind, body and soul without any cookie cutter tactics. The authenticity of each song ties into the next and utilizes very effective synth parts to bring perfected melodies to the forefront. While maintaining very subtle and atmospheric themes that resonate throughout the album’s entirety, Forest Robots still manages to explore musical angles in each track that touch on balances of equal parts originality and familiarity; giving every listener a fresh take on EDM/electronic flavors while also leading the album’s signature sound to a place of identifiability.

This album is also very accessible and can be appreciated by just about any EDM or electronic music fan. It doesn’t go into any shock value or unnecessary theatrics; it’s a well crafted album that pays close attention to detail and expresses Dominguez’s artistic merit in a way that you can understand. Its futuristic sound also has a cinematic feel that really gets you to delve deep into the visuals that these songs draw out in your mind, kinda like a musical painting or composed soundscapes that can be articulated right before your eyes. But one thing’s for sure – this record will soothe you from top to bottom, and each song will get you to relax your mind in a way that very few artists can achieve. “Times…” is not only a recommended record, it’s a triumphant one. It’s currently available on Apple Music, Spotify and other digital music streaming platforms.

Forest Robots also has an upcoming album titled “After Geography” available for pre-order now on Bandcamp and will officially release on August 28th. This is a must-listen for 2020.
