Exclusive Review: Christopher Dallman – “Digital Blue” Album/LP

Coming out swinging from the second this album starts, Christopher Dallman‘s ‘Digital Blue’ is an absolute visceral experience from start to finish that is comprised of many versatile elements including Electro-Pop, Synths/Keys, Dance, EDM, Alternative and everything in between. It leaves no stone unturned and is doused with melody that is taken to new levels, new heights and realms unheard of. And that’s just a brief description of ‘Digital Blue’, as well as the artistic merit that Dallman possesses. But then again – so much more.

The record is innovative, powerful, and all the more soothing as the first few tracks settle in. “How I Swim” has extremely fresh ambience that is supercharged with a subtle flow and nostalgic harmonies that immediately garners Dallman his own individualism that is rarely heard with today’s contemporary artists – and it really shows. Subsequent track “Highway Lanes” stays on a similar calibre but this time with keyboard melody drive and precisely executed harmonies that easily parallel each other. The synthesized touches and textures easily tie the entire song together as one orchestral piece.

These opening gems really give Dallman a true persona and personality that really round him out as a musician and writer – pushing musical boundaries to new heights that have breathed new life into a signature stylization that is melodic, symbolic, and insatiably crafty. The rest of the record, especially with notable track “Butterfly”, we have a hard-hitting drum anthem that really puts a searing edge into Dallman‘s musicianship factors that isn’t afraid to explore new borders and boundaries – all while still staying reminiscent to his already-established predecessors of this particular album. Closing track “Faith For Damn” is more slower, downtempo, melodic and very story-telling about a man that’s at the end of his spiritual rope. It’s a powerful listen and truly brings forth lyrics about a man facing his own inner demons – which is a track that many will resonate with.

All in all, Christopher Dallman‘s anthemic 10-track juggernaut has twist, turns, moods, battles, poetry and a captivating style that is futuristic and melody-driven to new levels the industry has yet to touch on. These are songs that need to be heard to be believed – and once you take that plunge into Dallman‘s masterpieces, you’ll understand exactly why. This is the kind of album that will change the game one listener at a time. ‘Digital Blue’ is currently available on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube, and several other digital music streaming platforms.
